Unwrap an Early Present with Tom Goss’ ‘Christmas With You!’
His new single brings a jaunty Yuletide jingle to your holiday season

Out singer-songwriter Tom Goss is having a very bear-y Christmas with his new single and video Christmas With You. Glittering with an easygoing melodic line and lush vocal harmonies, the upbeat number is the pop music equivalent of a sugar cookie. It has a Yuletide vibe without the cloying drawbacks of the stereotypical holiday song — refreshingly, it’s not as thick as eggnog, self-consciously saccharine, or as heavy as too many layers of red and green felt. Instead, it’s a light-hearted romp of a ditty, as fun and frolicsome as the best of Goss’ work.
“I started writing this song years ago and forgot all about it,” Goss, a newcomer to the Christmas song genre, says. “A couple months ago I ran across it in an email (just the first verse and chorus) and thought, ‘this is so cute, why didn’t I finish it?’”
The video co-stars Anne Reburn and Ricky Somborn, the latter of whom sports a hilariously on-target holiday sweater. “I immediately called Anne, who I’ve worked with for years, to see if she wanted to work on it,” Goss recalls. “Around the same time, I ran into Ricky at an event and was super impressed by his work. It felt like it was meant to be.
“I loved working with Anne and Ricky,” Goss goes on to say. “They both are so playful and their music instincts are really fun.
“Every day we were sending new musical ideas to each other,” Goss adds of their musical process. “I never knew what I was going to wake up to. We all bring such a colorful and bright perspective. It was a perfect match. The whole process was a whirlwind of joy.”
Goss’ prolific output over the last two decades has celebrated sweetness and sexuality, explored poignant emotional terrain, and even offered some pointed political commentary, but whether he’s singing bright-eyed love songs or pouring his heart out his songs have felt like letters from a friend.
